Pole Barn Interior Options - Image

Pole barns are a functional and better construction cost option compared to a traditional wood barn. Typically, a pole barn is used for storage, but you can transform it into a workshop, livestock area, or even living space. Milmar has many years of building experience to help you design the perfect pole barn interior.

Here are just a few interior options to consider if you want them or not during the design phase of your new pole barn.

Lofts

A loft will provide another level to your barn while keeping the open feel. You can take advantage of the high ceiling to customize the interior.

What are some loft uses: Extra storage for boxes and small equipment, hay loft, or, if you plan on finishing out the space, a reading nook with cozy chairs and shelves filled with books, home office space, game room, workout area, craft area or man cave. The options are endless! We will be sure to double check the supports to make sure the additional weight.

Stairs

Do you need custom interior stairs for your loft? We offer custom planning to make sure they don’t take up valuable space and are functional as well as eye pleasing.

Lighting

When you want natural lighting, you can use eave light panels or even better, insulated windows placed high to allow light in, but of course the ultimate solution is to have an electrician setup a custom lighting system for when a lot of light is needed at the flip of a switch.  LED bulbs are becoming the industry standard and require much less maintenance than many older lighting units.  Milmar is happy to coordinate along side your chosen electrician to get your barn lit up for ease of use!

Interior Liners

By enclosing the framing with liners, you can have a more finished interior look.  Liner options range from the standard ridged white metal, to plywood for shop areas and tool shelving to PVC for easy wash down areas!  A good liner will really elevate the use and look of your pole barn interior and provide a great way to insulate between the interior and exterior panels.

Radiant Heated Floor

While this option isn’t always cheap, it sure is nice on cold winter days when a concrete slab floor can get pretty chilly to have the entire building heated with a quiet and efficient system that not only warms the air, but also the floor!  Talk to Milmar about radiant heat options for your project and we will be glad to work through that with you.
